Ever wondered what are the cheapest supermarkets? Me too – I often wonder this when I dash out to the supermarket and have several to choose from – I normally always get it the wrong way round too remembering some mazing deal I got in one – fooling me into thinking the overall spend will be cheaper. Apparently the average monthly super-market spend costs of the 53 branded items in each supermarket trolley. So here’s a breakdown of what which mag found;
The cheapest super markets according to Which Magazine?..
- Aldi/Iceland/Lidl (I am unsure of who would be cheapest out of these as they were not included in the ‘study’ but lets be real – they MUST be better value that 2-7:).
- Sainsbury’s; £107.01
- Asda; £107.65
- Morrisons; £109.13
- Tesco; £112.40
- Ocado; £116.40
- Waitrose; £117.81
Now theres no need to guess or do lots of adding up of your shopping bills – the best supermarket to visit for overall cheapest deals is Sainsbury’s!
Update: In my haste I missed the fact that this ‘study’ seems to have missed the Obvious! Apparently this has also stirred up some annoyance online amongst Twit-sters and the like and I think rightly so. ave added the rather strangely and glaringly missing obvious candidates in this list – gosh it almost looks like they were left out on purpose – Adli, Iceland and of course the great and underrated Lidl who not only offer incredibly good deals – manage to also offer a high quality products – all be it a lesser selection – who cares about that?!
