Today it’s Sunday 29th 2015 and I am wondering why theatres have not utilised more (I’e never actually seen it used) the amazing power of digital projected backdrops in their plays and productions? The options seem endless and mean for instance a plane could be suspended on the stage in front of the audience and a backdrop of the scene along with surround sound and sky projected behind it for amazing effects leaving the plane still and making simple limited moves in front of the backdrop.
This would be awesome and I’m sure they do stuff like this at Disney, but I’d love to see this old technology used more in local theatres replacing at least in part the old traditional hand-made backdrops that take ages to change and hold up the play.
