In The Bible we are commanded to love people not like them. ‘Like’ is an emotion and love is an action and as Christians, it should be our number one priority to figure out what love really is! Did you ever hear your pastor really clearly define what love is and not just tell you to love your neighbor, love your wife, love your kids and so on and so on?
Well it should be pretty clear from looking at the way Jesus led His life what love really looks like – it’s sacrificial – self denial – putting others before self. What an incredible planet this would be if we only did that.
And to think it was written down in 10 simple and largely easy to keep commandments by God – but the world and all it’s pleasures and pursuits makes this simplicity in God and Christ a big unholy mess!
