Marriage has has always been a discriminatory issue from the beginning of time and was always based on far more than just ‘loving’ someone. That’s not even considering the fact that the meaning of ‘love’ has been completely lost in recent years and substituted for what is actually more akin to ‘liking’ or ‘having a preference’ for something.

Now, discrimination means to be discerning (look it up before the dictionary people completing erase its real meaning forever). Discernment is the ability and according to the Bible even a gift – to make an informed and wise choice. Discrimination has never been and still isn’t a bad thing – discrimination is and had never been a bad thing.
Hating someone you have no reason to hate however is. But this is not discrimination – this is hate so how come we are allowing people to try to fuse the two together to suit their own agenda?
When you choose not to eat too much fat or make a discriminatory choice not to smoke you are saving your lungs and possibly your life. Is that hate? No that is the definition of loving – caring for your mind and body.
Marriage has never been based on or defined on the claim to love someone or something. It has never been based on you marrying anything or anyone you claim to love. It’s always been based on giving yourself to someone else whole heartedly. I mean who are YOU to say I don’t love my gerbil?!!!
Otherwise we would be marrying all those people and things that we love – our daughters, our dogs and cats, our children – oh wait… that’s now beginning to happen right? Err yep. I have just read that a Texas woman has married herself (I think it was Texas). And The Bible told us thousands of years ago what would happen in these confused and messed up times;
“in the last days people will be lovers of self.”
