“All you need is Jesus!” Well that’s what we’ve been told by evangelists and Christians world over for the last few decades. But this is a fallen world, and jesus is not physically here (though we know He can obviously appear to us in person if He wishes). Granted, if all you had was Jesus He would be sufficient. So what are we to make of, and do with all the many blessing other than himself Jesus has very clearly given or left us such as prayer, The Bible, His church – i.e the body of believers of living stones that makes up the real church? Are we then to assume we don’t need any of these things?
I’ll let the master, John McDowell tell you what we also need desperately along side Jesus Christ’s love to change our hearts in this world which in the main has forgotten God and spends most of its time actively kicking God as far away as possible.
