With so many Bibles popping up all over the place, many dubiously translated by individuals in their own studies, some having anything politically incorrect or controversial removed, and others being clear attempts by printing and publishing companies to make big bucks by selling their own version of the world’s most read book (to do this one must obtain a copyright which is only done by changing the text by a specific percentage!), I believe every Christian should know the history of The King James Bible, the only Bible that is copyright free, bears the name ‘Holy’ and anyone can reproduce without having to pay a fee – and how King James, in an attempt to end the Catholic church’s lengthy campaign to stop The Bible being translated into any common language and made available to anyone other than a select few, organised this mammoth undertaking to make what was to be the translation of all Bible translations, and finally made it available to the common man in easy to understand language.
