Glastonbury Does Not Need Blur?

I read something that made me chuckle on Yahoo news today – and goodness knows why I read Yahoo and whilst there are sometimes useful and informative articles, generally it simply serves to  keep me up to date on the nonsense that the world loves and what it holds important and reminds me of all the things I need to steer clear of (did you know the CEO is a born again Christian? – not sure how that figures with some of the utter nonsense i see on there but I guess her job is to keep the $$$ rolling in?). The headline was;

‘Glastonbury does not need Blur’

…and no doubt this was one immature band member getting personal with another band member.
But instantly I read the headline the thought and a much more appropriate headline crossed my mind – how about;

“The world does not need Glastonbury!”…

..or for that matter Blur, or Oasis, or any other of the rubbish, rebellious bands that consist of people that The Bible refers to as singers of ‘songs of fools’ – ungodly music, beats and lyrics that corrupt our kids and most of the adults. Does that sound harsh?I hope so as the problem is that this kind of music is what most churches are emulating now days in order to get the kids ‘in’, seeing as a marketing tool and not realising that it will serve to do a lot more than that – and actually put a barrier between them and their father. It’s time we recognised the pop industry for what it is all about; $$$! and stopped trying to ‘clean it up’ and bring it into the sanctuary!
