God will not be mocked! I would think six times about even contemplating playing with fire – let alone playing with The Devil! The carnivals of Brasil have always been painted as just ‘fun’ – but is it possible looking at scripture that God might see this revelry in a different light?
Are these Basilian carnival revellers nuts!!?? What kind of fools would build a giant, mobile Devil on wheels for fun and parade it down the street to music – as if He needs any more exposure than He already has in this depraved, corrupt and godless world?
And not only that, what kind of people would build a giant Devil and think that God wouldn’t have anything to say about it – but rather they think in some blind fashion that He would be quite content just to sit on His throne and watch all the fun, including the merriment surrounding His arch enemy – the chief rebeller and cause of all the world’s ills.
Clearly these people don’t take God or His Word seriously. To them the Devil is a figment of fun and probably looks like the image they created, not realising the Devil comes as an angel of light to deceive the nations! He has clearly succeeded. And let’s not forget if we might think Satan is not real – it was Jesus Christ himself – you know the one we all believe the words of as Christians – that spoke more about hell than heaven and spoke often about a real personal Devil called Satan.
Does it sound a bit far fetched that a twisted, debautched, sick, angry, devilish, rebellious, unforgiving, fear mongering, war creating, famine causing, covetous, adulterous, murdering, thieving, back-biting, slandering, god-hating, law-hating being exists and deceives men in plain sight? Yes you say? So did you forget the world leaders and despots of today in our parliaments, governments, corporations and even schools and were also creations of God? Not so far fetched now is it? – especially when you consider that Satan’s name was originally ‘Lucifer’ – and very beautiful, charming and charismatic being indeed he was – a world away from the image above.
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom – and the message from God is LOUD and CLEAR; don’t play with The Devil – as you are not only playing with fire – you are playing with God! We Christians need to all seriousness, need to respectfully but fearlessly start calling a spade. Speaking the the truth may get you killed in this life but playing will fire only has one ending – and it’s certainly no fun. You can watch more of this foolery here;
