In 1977 several of Elvis Presley’s body guards wrote a book about Elvis disclosing many of his personal problems and prescription drug habits he was dealing with – they say – to try and help him. To be honest I don’t buy that line since in the previous months, these same guys that wrote the book were fired abruptly by Elvis who had his father do it and were not pleased to put it mildly after several decades of working for the king (small ‘k’).
The book that some say (and I agree) killed Elvis Presley – or at least left him no way out, by exposing his darker side and many personal problems (that we all have I should add). Perhaps the authors might have done better to remember that one day “ALL of us will stand before God and give an account of those things done in the body.”
Now I do not believe for a minute, as I used to as a kid, that ‘Christian’ and ‘mother loving’ Elvis could do no wrong. I have since had these dreams shattered and now know – probably as these guys knew that Elvis was just like the rest of us – a human struggling with life and specifically fame – which several Christian people that knew him think was his real cause of death.
What’s this go to do with America?.. well, like America, Elvis was great wether you like him or not, and wether he was a nice guy or not – he was great at least in the worlds eyes. America was also great, with all her problems and terrible deeds throughout her life but the question is; knowing as we do now that many people have made it their mission to take the America we know and love is it too take it to pieces – constitutional law by constitutional law.
I loved Elvis despite his faults and frankly in retrospect, seeing the rebelliousness he fuelled like a catalyst, though he wasn’t solely responsible, and was quite unaware I think of the real nature of what he was getting involved in and the lawlessness he was adding too in the young (the preachers that broke his records were right after all!) along with many others with fifties rock-n-roll, and like Elvis who reaped what he sowed in the end, I also loved America – now also about to reap what she sowed… or stopped sowing – namely God.
I’m not an american – but I am not one of those miserable English people that doesn’t like Americans ‘because they are loud’ (just jealously of their self-confidence in my opinion though this is leaving them), no – I love america and what it stands for – or stood for – namely the God of the Bible, it’s values and precepts – and that INCREDIBLE document – THE CONSTITUTION! (young people around the world – if you don’t know what it is – learn about it and why the US founding fathers took so much care in crafting it – in short – to stop any one person or entity grabbing too much power). America once stood for the ten commandments – the answer to all the word’s problems in ten easy-to-keep (if everyone else is doing or at least trying to do the same) fair, just and dare I say – beautiful laws.
So I ask, you if you are american – are you going to take action and save your country by ousting the well-meaning people in the White House and replacing them with God-fearing politicians, or are you going to let these liberal fools finish what they started and demolish the last bastion in the world between freedom and the predicted and soon coming single world order – the one marketed as the thing that will usher in a new era of peace but what may turn out to be (if The Bible is correct) the world’s final dictatorship to end all dictatorships. It’s just a matter of time before someone steps onto the world stage and takes total control of all the world’s resources, computing power, scientific technology, banks and commerce. America, it’s time to stand up – you are our only hope!
