Did you know that the Word of God not only opens peoples eyes – those thirsty to hear the truth – but it closes people’s minds and hearts too! We’ve all heard that God hardens the hearts of those that refuse to love the truth – or perhaps you haven’t? Don’t believe it?.. it’s in The Bible. It’s right there in the book of Isaiah among other places – which shows us that there’s no such thing (unfortunately for those who want to become big shot names in the preaching world) as a ‘successful’ preacher. Remember Jesus was the biggest shot of all and he was killed for his teaching and preaching of the truth.
A preachers life – I mean a real preacher – one that teaches the whole council of God and not just the nice bits or the smooth words, will have much trouble in this life and be rejected by many. Thankfully there will be many that listen so don’t be put off if it’s really in your heart. I know it’s in mine but I’m still gearing up for the rejection and persecution. At the moment I have too much on my plate but there will come a time when I can handle it.
