We are forever hearing about left right – right left, liberal left, conservative right, and ever since I was a small kid and watched debates (the Bible looks unfavourably on debating incidentally – clearly because it promotes the idea that all ideas are equal and truth is relative rather than the truth – that in most cases one idea is better than another and truth is NEVER relative – unless the statement that truth is relative is also relative – I assume the sayers of this poppycock thing their statement is true?) on ‘left and right’, I knew there was something wrong – or at least self-defeating about this whole idea.
It’s the reason that many kids and young people these days – seeing straight through the facade of the career politicians who are just in it (thankfully not all) for the money and the prestige and don’t bother to vote. What’s the point when the two sides are buddies once they get down the pub after spending a few hours pretending they are opposing each other in the chamber and actually stand for something?
Of course the phrases ‘left’ and ‘right’ likely come about after the the parties formed and was simply a descriptor of the general differences in policies easier – but the problem is, these party descriptions have become more of a fashion statement to say you are left or liberal or right – rather than a means to actually encourage people to think what is actually right – what is actually wrong, and not to just tow the party line because you’re in it up to the hilt and on the parole. I think it would go a long way to stop paying politicians so much and force them to take second jobs – that way we could at least ensure that those involved had real convictions and force them to think right or wrong not left and right. Of course this will never happen.
As Long as we Have Left and Right we Won’t get Anywhere
The fact is as long as we are arguing about left and right, and not what’s wrong or right, we are heading down a blind alleys – as proved by politics over the last century. An alley where moral values will slowly converge into a mulch of liberalism and anyone that has the guts to stand up for what is right is shot down in flames as being evil for voicing anything they honestly think is wrong and even labelled as ‘mentally ill’, phobic, or a ‘hater’ for taking a non-liberal stance on anything. In the end, the behaviour of the liberals (did you know the Bible calls liberal evil? – look it up – don’t take my word for it) will bring down God’s judgement – but unfortunately it will may also come down on the heads of the those that love truth and righteousness also – if they don’t stand up for truth, right and wrong.
