Well OK I know this is not always the case – I mean there are plenty of nut cases out there with their own man-made doctrines they wish to promote for their own glorification or gain, but you get my point.
I’m saying that a good preacher will preach the truth as Jesus Christ preached it, and that will mean difficult listening to most of our ears including mine. I mean who wants to hear the truth? Jesus told us very clearly that people would hate you if you followed him – and make no mistake this is nothing to do with what the atheists call ‘believing in the sky fairy’ – it’s all to do with sin, being acutely aware we all do it and not not wanting to a) repent and b) be in an ongoing and accountable relationship with God.
So no – not all good preachers will not be asked back – in fact I’ve seen many wonderful preachers preach truth and be asked to preach again, but many that haven’t because they were not preaching smooth words as the Bible puts it.
