Limiting free speech sounds great doesn’t it – because we don’t want to hurt people’s feelings do we. Hang on, is this coming from the same governments that send hundreds of troops to illegal wars to be maimed, and cause these poor men and women to damage other nations in ways that go far beyond emotions? I think so.
Don’t Limit What People Can Say About Me
But does limiting free speech really mean no free speech – surely that’s taking things to far? Yes it does IMHO. We have been lulled into thinking that limited free speech is OK because it really does offend our ears and our emotions when we hear people being necessarily nasty about us. But I’m afraid I am willing to put up with whatever anyone says about me that is detrimental if it means we have free speech, and what the men and women of all the free nations died on battle fields to protect is preserved! If what they say is true, then perhaps I will be shamed into changing my ways, and if it’s false – then let the legal system take its course should I wish to use it, but don’t limit speech! If some people want to tell lies it will come down on their own head in the end – The Bible promises it. It’s one of the 10 commandments – “Thou (you) Shalt not bear false witness” i.e it’s your responsibility not the break God’s law – not; “The government shalt throw thou in prison when they decide you have said too much.”
Free Speech is Worth More That All the Gold in The World!
Isn’t limiting free speech just to protect people from verbal abuse? No! Why? – because I want my enemies, no matter how bad they are to have free speech to say what they want about me, and if I feel they have damaged me by lying and dishonesty, then I have the wonderful law to take them to task to exact justice on my behalf and deter others from doing the same. But to limit free speech – then we might as well just remove all the courts and be done with it.
What’s The REAL Purpose Governments Like To Limit Free Speech?
But for the government to limit what people can say period – before the point that someone has broken the law, simply means only one thing: the real reason they and every other despot in history wants to limit free speech is so you can’t talk about THEM in a way that incriminates their activity! It has NOTHING to do with protecting the people they say the curb on speech is to protect! Come on – let’s get real!
